STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING.

Our structural design office is fully equipped with the latest software in order to provide high end structural engineering designs for our clients. In seismic design we have dealt with numerous lateral restraint systems that include shear walls, moment frames, braced frames as well as combined systems per UBC-97 requirements. We have been involved in the design of high rise post tensioned concrete structures where architecture has required long spans and a reduced amount of vertical elements in both residential and hotel projects. Our engineers have also designed composite steel/concrete structures for the pharmaceutical industry, using strict quality and schedule requirements.

STRUCTURAL AND CONCRETE REPAIR.

The mix of tropical climate and heavy exposure to a saline environment produce the ideal situation for concrete and structural damage. Our engineers will diagnose an existing building which requires repair and engineer the best repair solution possible to guarantee a safe structure with an extended lifespan. Our professionals are members of the International Concrete Repair Institute and are involved both locally in the Puerto Rico chapter and in several ICRI committees at the national level.

HOTEL PROJECTS SERVICES.

JR Technical & Development provides complete project management services for the development of a hotel facility. This includes the permitting required for the local, state and federal agencies, structural design, environmental assessments, civil works, develop bid process, construction supervision and inspection.

We work with cost and benefit analysis, construction revisions and contract administration. JR Technical & Development will develop and monitor a project schedule and will meticulously monitor the contractor’s progress throughout the project to ensure that top quality will be delivered on time and within the budget constraints.

ENGINEERING DESIGN MANAGEMENT.

Our team will ensure complicated designs with multiple consultants are integrated properly and will always respond to the project specifications and client’s standards. JR Technical & Development continuously monitors the design progress in a project by maintaining a strong communication link with all project participants. We provide special care and attention to projects which require accelerated permitting and endorsements from government agencies.

PROJECTS INSPECTION.

JR Technical & Development will inspect all projects in a detail-oriented fashion, ensuring top quality is being delivered by the contractor. Daily and monthly reports are prepared for the client, allowing the client to monitor progress of all deliverables. JR Technical & Development has qualified and certified personnel for performing construction inspections as well as certified inspectors in asbestos and lead removal operations.

SHOP DRAWING REVIEW.

As part of our construction management and inspection services, JR Technical and Development will review all shop drawings provided by the contractor in a detail-oriented and meticulous fashion. All discrepancies from contract drawings shall be corrected prior to authorizing building deliverables.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING.

JR Technical & Development has participated in numerous mass transit projects serving as design managers. We have also prepared feasibility studies for these systems. At the municipal level our firm has worked in the preparation of transportation plans for several municipalities on the island.
