Founded in 1985 by Raúl Gayá Benejam, JR Technical was founded in order to partner with Metcalf and Eddy in the rehabilitation of the island-wide wastewater system, at that time under court order. However, JR Technical is a continuation of the Gaya tradition of approaching the island’s infrastructure with novel and innovative technologies. As such, JR Technical has developed and been involved with novel hazardous wastes, water and waster design and environmental compliance, innovative transportation projects, and innovative fast track techniques, alternative energy projects.
All these previous projects, as a tradition, involve very complex interactions with the community. Furthermore, these have been properly recognized, including a National Monument and two Outstanding Engineering Project Awards from the local College of Engineers. JR Technical is also one of the local leaders in 3P projects including the five years very successful rehabilitation and repair of the island wide sewer treatment system.
Currently, JR Technical is involved in alternate energy projects, airport design projects, seismic evaluations and designs, retail and wholesale commerce building design and construction management. Furthermore, we maintain our tradition with large projects of high social value. Presently; we are involved with the realization of a major gas supply to the island for the production of electricity. This project involves different load stations, power plants, delivery logistics, community relations, project and design engineering and targets, lowering the price of electricity significantly to our island.
The company’s mission is to continuously contribute with innovative vision to the betterment of Puerto Rico’s infrastructure, as well as to provide sustainable and innovative solutions that prove to be both cost-effective and beneficial for our clients.
