La Familia Pawn Shop

Concept.

La Familia is a pawn service chain store from Florida. The concept promoted by La Familia is new to the island. It is not the traditional "24 hour trade everything" shop which had been the norm in Puerto Rico. These new stores will only open during the daytime. They look more like a department store than a regular pawn shop. However, they still trade jewelry and other goods. Furthermore, these chain stores will also barter in new merchandise. Each customer entering the store is received by an attendant who will cater to specific needs.

Design.

The stores are designed for proper circulation between aisles. Major equipment is demonstrated on the side of the store. Smaller equipment is demonstrated in the inside aisles. All flow is directed towards store attendants with the cashier being the final stage.

Experience & Involvement.

La Familia stores have been sprouting all over the island. JRT completed 9 stores of a total of 15 stores, the latter are smaller remodeled stores. JRT has been involved since the beginning of the concept at arrival in Puerto Rico. JRT has performed design planning, construction supervision and inspection, and project and construction management for the firm since its inception.
